Typical of houses of this vintage, the modest kitchen was partitioned by a peninsula into a tight working “U” and a small eating area. The clients love to entertain, but preparing and serving in these cramped quarters was difficult.
Neither half of the kitchen was big enough, but the overall space was generous. We redesigned the space to create a spacious modern kitchen with two working areas. Lots of cabinet and counter space surround a large picture window facing the yard. There was even extra space for a wine bar. Now the kitchen is perfect for preparing for and entertaining a large group or fixing an intimate dinner.
